The 3 gallon JBJ Picotope is a sleek, curved-glass miniature aquarium that is perfect for creating a tiny nano reef zen. Since it's compact and elegant, it sits nicely on almost any desktop or flat surface and will bring a touch of radiance and color to the room. The Picotope has completely curved-glass for seamless viewing all around, so you can view your tiny reef without ugly seams getting in the way and distorting your view.
Illuminating the Picotope is an included clamp-on 9 watt compact fluorescent lamp with remote ballast for optimum cooling. In a smaller aquarium like the Picotope, heat can be a problem. But, with the clamp-on lamp with remote ballast, heat output is minimized. Also included is a 3-stage 40gph hang-on powerfilter that provides chemical, biological, and mechanical filtration--thus keeping your Picotope's water crystal clear and clean.

The 3 gallon Picotope is excellent for creating a miniature coral garden with corals such as mushrooms, soft corals, and polyps. There is a wide variety of corals that will do well in the Picotope and create a colorful and diverse mini-reef zen garden. Xenia, ricordea, and zoanthids are especially hardy corals that are easy to keep in the Picotope. Smaller invertebrates such as red and blue-legged hermit crabs, snails, and Sexy Shrimp also do especially well in the Picotope.
Furthermore, with the Blue-Moon-Glow Lunar Light, you can watch what goes on in your Picotope at night without bothering its residents. This lunar light make it easy to see the nocturnal behavior of the critters in your aquarium in cool simulated moonlight.
