Mag-Float Glass Scraper

Mag-Float Glass Scraper

A good Mag-Float Glass Scraper is a nano reef aquarist's best friend. It's an essential part of aquarium maintenance, and I'd be completely lost without mine. Mag-Floats make it extremely easy to clean annoying algae from aquarium glass without even getting your hands wet. All you do is drop one half of the magnetic Mag-Float in your aquarium, match it up with the other side and scrape away! The Mag-Float will magnetically "stick" on both sides of the glass.

Mag-Floats are no-scratch, so you won't end up with tiny annoying scratches all over your aquarium glass. Additionally, Mag-Float scrapers do just as the name says--they float. If the two halves separate, the half in the water will simply float up to the surface, so you won't have to stick your arm into the tank and retrieve it from the bottom. My Mag-Float has saved me many times from needing to roll up my sleeve and dig around in the sand.

However, if you have an acrylic aquarium, the Mag-Float Glass Scraper could potentially scratch it because it isn't designed for the more delicate acrylic aquariums. For acrylic tanks, there is the Acrylic Safe Mag-Float, which is made especially for acrylic.
